Bothwell Castle is suitable for:

  • ceremonies
  • photography

Mighty Bothwell Castle sits in beautiful surroundings, above a winding curve in the River Clyde. Scotland’s largest and finest 13th-century castle has part of its original circular keep still standing. Walter of Moray’s great display of feudal pride is responsible for the castle’s grandeur, which today serves wedding parties well.

Great Hall (open air)

Capacity: 60 people

Above the Great Hall are open skies, making this a romantic space for an al fresco wedding. Rising up alongside the hall, which is on the first floor of the castle, is the majestic south-east tower.

The Vault

Capacity: 60 people

Just below the Great Hall is the vault. This secluded, sheltered space makes a popular first choice of venue as well as a good backup in bad weather.

You can hire Bothwell Castle just for your wedding photographs, even if your ceremony will be held elsewhere.
