The grounds and shop are accessible.
Due to access restrictions in place as a precautionary measure while we undertake high level masonry inspections, there is currently no visitor access to the castle.
Opening times
1 April to 30 September: Monday to Wednesday, 10am to last entry at 4pm (closes 4.30pm).
Closed for lunch 12.30pm to 1pm.
Closures
1 October to 31 March.
Adverse weather or other reasons beyond our control may cause a site to close. We advise checking ahead if the forecast is poor or you are making a long journey. Current unexpected and short term closures
