The Promoter of this competition is Historic Environment Scotland, an executive non-departmental public body, incorporated and established under the Historic Environment Scotland Act 2014, being a registered charity (Scottish Charity number SC045925) and having its principal office at Longmore House, Salisbury Place, Edinburgh, EH9 1SH - The Competition
2.1 These terms and conditions apply to the prize draw to win one of three £20 Amazon.co.uk gift e-vouchers for completing the survey to help us improve our learning resources, (“the Competition”).
2.2 The opening date for entries is Tuesday 12 November 2019. The Competition will close at 11am on Monday 9 December 2019 (“the Closing Date”). Entries received after the Closing Date will be automatically disqualified.
2.3 Entries will be submitted by completing our survey to help us improve our learning resources and opting in to be placed into the prize draw to win one of three £20 Amazon.co.uk gift e-vouchers. Only one entry per person is permitted.
2.4 Historic Environment Scotland accepts no responsibility for entries not successfully completed due to a technical fault, technical malfunction, computer hardware or software failure, satellite, network or server failure of any kind.
2.5 Three winners will be chosen by a random draw performed by a computer process by Tuesday 10 December at 5pm.
2.6 The winning entrants will be contacted via email to inform them of their prize. The winning entrants will be advised of the procedure for receiving their £20 Amazon.co.uk gift e-vouchers - The Prize
3.1 Three winning entrants will receive one of three £20 Amazon.co.uk gift e-vouchers by email.
3.2 This prize is not transferable or exchangeable and cannot be taken as cash. - Notification of winning entries
4.1 The winner will be notified by Friday 13 December at 5pm via email by Historic Environment Scotland.
4.2 If the winner is unable to be contacted after reasonable attempts, Historic Environment Scotland will be entitled to select other winner(s) in accordance with the process described above.
4.3 Historic Environment Scotland must either publish or make available information that indicates that a valid award took place. To comply with this obligation Historic Environment Scotland will send the surnames and county of the winners to anyone who emails catriona.hood@hes.scot or writes to the address set out in Condition 1 (enclosing a self-addressed envelope) within one month after the Closing Date of the competition.
4.4 If you object to either or both of your surname and county being published or made available, please contact Catriona Hood at Historic Environment Scotland by email at catriona.hood@hes.scot or by post at Catriona Hood, Historic Environment Scotland, Longmore House, Salisbury Place, Edinburgh, EH9 1SH]. In such circumstances, Historic Environment Scotland will not provide the information to members of the public, but must still provide the information and winning entry to the Advertising Standards Authority (“ASA”) on request by the ASA, to comply with our legal obligation to do so. - Eligibility
5.1 The Competition is not open to employees of Historic Environment Scotland or their immediate families.
5.2 Entrants must be over 18 and resident in the UK. - Data protection
6.1 The legal bases for which Historic Environment Scotland will collect personal data in respect of Competition entrants are (i) its legitimate interest of administering the Competition, and (ii) to comply with its legal obligations in respect of competitions.
6.2 Historic Environment Scotland will use the personal data of Competition entrants as follows:
6.2.1 To contact the winning entrants and to send the prize to them;
6.2.2 To contact an alternative winning entrant and to send the prize to them if the winning entrant cannot be contacted within a reasonable time; and
6.2.3 To comply with the legal obligation to provide the winner’s surnames and county in response to requests for this information from third parties, but only if and for so long as that remains a legal obligation.
6.3 Historic Environment Scotland will use personal details that entrants provide to us in line with our Privacy Notice - General
7.1 These rules are governed by the laws of Scotland. By entering into this competition, each entrant agrees to submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Scottish courts.
7.2 Historic Environment Scotland reserves the right to disqualify any entrants that breach these rules or any entries that, in the sole opinion of Historic Environment Scotland, are in any way fraudulent or otherwise unlawful or would damage the reputation of Historic Environment Scotland.
7.3 Historic Environment Scotland reserves the right to cancel this Competition at any time. Historic Environment Scotland reserves the right to amend these rules without notice by posting changes to the website www.historicenvironment.scot. We will only notify entrants of changes if we are required to do so by law.
7.4 Insofar as is permitted by law, Historic Environment Scotland will not in any circumstances be responsible or liable to compensate the winner or accept any liability for any loss, damage, personal injury or death occurring as a result of taking up the prize except where it is caused by the negligence of Historic Environment Scotland or that of its employees. Your statutory rights are not affected.
