J Starkie Gardner (1844-1930) considered to be 'Metalworker to King Edward VII', was the authority on the history of decorative ironwork during the turn of the century, as well as owning a company which produced many fine examples of decorative ironwork. This volume was published to display photographs and drawings of the company's work in both traditional and modern settings.
