Cultural Venues Modern Apprenticeship Opportunities

Historic Environment Scotland is offering school leavers the opportunity to join our team at Edinburgh Castle on a two-year Cultural Venues Modern Apprenticeship.

The nine graduates of the inaugural HES Cultural Venues Modern Apprenticeships were joined by Scottish Government and HES Board officials at Edinburgh Castle to reflect on their experiences over the past 18 months during Scottish Apprenticeship Week 2018.

Following the success of Edinburgh Castles pilot Modern Apprenticeship Programme (MAP) in Cultural Venue Operations, we are offering 9 school leavers the opportunity to join the Castle team in September 2018.

Running over 2 years, the successful Modern Apprentices will undertake both theoretical coursework and practical work based learning to achieve an SCQF Level 6 Diploma in Cultural Venue Operations.

This is an excellent opportunity for school leavers interested in pursuing a career in the Heritage and Tourism industry. Modern Apprentices will not only receive a recognised qualification on completion of their MAP, they will develop transferable skills in customer service, communication and teamwork which will be relevant to any future work environment.

Edinburgh Castle is a bustling and vibrant workplace where no two days are the same. If you would like the opportunity to interact with visitors from across the globe and start a career with Scotland’s leading heritage tourism provider then HES would love to hear from you.

Applications can be submitted via the Skills Development Scotland website

Closing date for applications is Friday 31 August 2018.
