Jane Ryder

Board Chair Jane Ryder is a specialist in corporate governance and regulation.

Her recent roles include establishing the new charity regime in Scotland, as the first Chief Executive of the Office of the Scottish Charity Regulator (OSCR). Before this, she was the Chief Executive of the Scottish Museums Council, a Board member of the Museum and Galleries Commission and was one of Scran’s original Board members. 

She is an experienced non-executive director particularly in the public and not for profit areas. She was awarded the OBE in 2012 for services to the arts and to charity in Scotland.

She is a Board member of Revenue Scotland, the tax authority, and the Scottish Police Authority.

Her appointment as Chair of Historic Environment Scotland started on 19 January 2015 to 18 January 2019 (now extended until 18 January 2021).
