As a public body, we have a commitment to reduce our carbon emissions and play a key role in reaching the Scottish Government’s national carbon reduction target.
Our Carbon Management Plan, covering the period 2015-2020, details our approach to carbon reduction. By 2020, we aim to reduce emissions by 11%, in line with the national target.
In all our decision-making and business planning, we aim to consider the impact of our carbon footprint. We identify opportunities for sustainable procurement and reducing the amount of waste produced and annually report on our progress.
We will baseline and analyse our carbon footprint to identify the continued reduction of energy use in buildings, as well as increased efficiencies in business travel, waste reduction and more.
To ensure robust governance, our Carbon Management Board meet every six months and is chaired by the Chief Executive.
